• Description

  Slash of the bark of Eschweilera correae based on Batista 1188 from Veraguas Province, Panama. The outer bark surface is reddish brown, thin, and shows vertically oriented shallow fissures. The inner bark is wider than the outer bark and is light pink in color and there is a red line between the inner bark and the sap wood. Scallops and lenticels are not apparent on this trunk.
