  Diaphragmed pith of Nyssa sylvatica based on Mori et al. 27783 from the Wilderness Walk of the Westchester Land Trust, Westchester Co., New Yok. Note that the areas between the septations are filled with pith between each pair of septa. This is called a diaphragmed pith.
