    Pubescence of a hypanthium of Couratari macrosperma at NY showing the stellate trichomes based on Silva & Rosario 465 from Rondônia, Brazil. Upper left: view of a hypanthium. Upper right: close-up of preceeding. Note that the tufts are densely arranged giving the hypanthial surface a smooth appearance.. Lower left: tufts with short trichomes at the base.
