Description
Species Description - Stems 1–few, erect, to 12 dm, minutely hairy; petioles much exceeding the stalk of the terminal lfl; lfls thick, linear, 3–7 cm, mostly 6–10 times as long as wide, glabrous or nearly so, strongly reticulate-veiny; infl 2–4 dm, with several ascending branches; fls 3–5 mm, on pedicels 6–11 mm; cal 1.5–2 mm; stipe 1–2 mm; articles 1–2(3), 4–6 × 3–4.5 mm, rounded on the lower margin, flat or slightly concave on the upper. Pine barrens on the coastal plain; N.J. to Fla. and La. July, Aug.
