Description
Species Description - Stems slender, prostrate, much branched, 2–6 dm; stipules free from the petiole, lanceolate, prolonged below into a short auricle; lfls commonly 4, 1–3 cm, lance- linear to obovate; spikes terminal, with 3–10 fls 1–2 cm apart; bracts 7–10 mm, broadly oval, erect, auriculate; fls yellow, 1 cm; joints of the pod 2–4, bristly, 3–4 mm; 2n=20. Dry sandy soil; se. Va. to Fla. and Mex. Summer.
