    Species Description - Plants dwarf, cespitose, the basal or near- basal lvs forming a tuft 2–4 cm; lfls 3, digitate, cuneate-obovate, long-pilose, especially beneath, with 2–4 deep teeth on each side; fls yellow, 6 mm wide; bractlets elliptic, 2 mm, equaling the oblong sep; pet obcordate, barely surpassing the sep. Rare and local, in rocky places at high elev. in the White Mts. of N.H.; formerly also on Mt. Mansfield in Vt., and reputedly still present at an undisclosed location in Vt. June.
