Description - Culms 15 to 40 cm. tall, erect from extensively creeping, hard, scaly rhizomes, the numerous leaves conspicuously distichous, the sheaths overlapping, the blades firm, involute-pointed ; panicles spikelike, commonly not over 5 cm. long.
