  Cultivated Species; Dioscorea esculenta (Lam.) Burkill, D. floribunda Mart. & Gal., D. friedrichsthalii R. Knuth, and D. rotundata Poir. are cultivated in Puerto Rico, but no evidence exists that they have become naturalized or have escaped from cultivation.
