    Description - Shrubs or trees, with opposite, pinnate or rarely simple leaves, and large flowers racemose or panicled at the ends of the branches. Calyx tubular campanulate, 5-toothed. Corolla funnelform-campanulate, the limb slightly 2-lipped, 5-lobed, the lobes nearly equal. Stamens 4, didynamous. Ovary sessile or nearly sessile; ovules mostly in one series on the placentae.
