Description
Species Description - A shrub, or a tree up to 20 m. high, the nearly terete, slender twigs glabrous. Leaves oblong, rather thin, 7-15 cm. long, mostly obtuse at the apex, narrowed at the base, shining above, dull beneath, the petioles 12 cm. long; racemes narrow, elongated, 4-8 dm. long; pedicels 1.5-3 mm. long; calyx campanulate, about 3 mm. long, nearly truncate; corolla white, its tube about twice as long as the calyx, its limb spreading, 4-5 mm. wide; drupe globose-oblong, black, shining, 2-3 times as long as the calyx; nutlets 1-celled.
