    Species Description - A somewhat fleshy shrub, 3-12 dm. tall, with silky-tomentose foliage, much branched and often forming large clumps, the twigs densely leafy. Leaves numerous, linear-spatulate, 4-10 cm. long, obtuse; cymes with 24 recurved branches; calyx campanulate, its lobes 2-3 mm. long, oblong; corolla surpassing the calyx; fruit ovoid, 5 mm. high, black, with 2 nutlets.

    Coastal rocks and sands, throughout the archipelago from Abaco and Great Bahama to Caicos and Turk's Islands, Inagua, the Anguilla Isles, Cay Sal and Water Cay : Bermuda ; Florida ; West Indies ; coast of tropical Mexico. Bay Lavender.
