Description
Species Description - A somewhat woody, glabrous vine, 1-2 m. long. Leaves ovate to elliptic, rather thin, short-petioled, 3-5 cm. long, 3-nerved, dark green, rounded and mucronulate at the apex, rounded or subcordate at the base, reticulate-veined on both sides, with a few distant flat circular glands beneath; peduncles longer than the petioles, jointed at about the middle; calyx white to red or purple, 2-3 cm. long; petals narrowly oblong, shorter than the calyx; crownsegments few, linear; carpophore 2-3 cm. long; berry globose, 10-20 mm. in diameter, dark purple.
