Description
Species Description - A vine up to 6 m. long or more, the young twigs glabrous, the bark smooth, the pith continuous through the nodes. Leaves suborbicular or reniform, thin, but rather firm in texture, 4-8 cm. broad, coarsely dentate, cordate at the base, glabrous above, pubescent in the axils of the veins beneath, the petioles as long as the blades or shorter; tendrils simple, very slender when young; panicles 2-8 cm. long; berries globose, 1-1.5 cm. in diameter, nearly black, acid, the skin thin, the seeds 3-5 mm. long.

Coppices, pine-lands and scrub-lands, Abaco, Great Bahama, Andros, New Providence : Georgia; Florida. Reported by Dolley as V. caribaea DC.-; recorded by Hitchcock, Coker and Mrs. Northrop as Y. rotundifolia Michx. WILD Ghape.
