    Species Description - A tree, sometimes 13 m. high with a trunk up to 5 dm. in diameter, usually smaller, sometimes shrubby, the thin gray bark smooth or nearly so. Petioles 1-5 cm. long; leaflets obovate or spatulate, firm in texture, 2-5 cm. long, entire, glabrous, shining above, rather dull beneath, finely veined, the apex obtuse, emarginate or aeutish; sepals ovate, ciliate; petals suborbieular, about 2mm. long, ciliate, about as long as the sepals; drupes ovoid, black, 5-7 mm. long.
