  • Discussion

Discussion. - Recently Pérez-Ortega & Spribille (2009) described this distinctive species from the Pacific Northwest of North America. This species corresponds to the taxon I have called "L. robertsiana" on annotation labels of specimens borrowed on loan from various North American herbaria. In addition to abundant material from the Pacific Northwest (British Columbia, Canada) I have seen specimens from boreal eastern North America (Newfoundland and Ontario, Canada). These collections are cited below and extend the range of the species to the eastern half of the continent. I draw attention to L. torii here in the hope that collectors in boreal North America will turn up additional material linking the two sets of populations.
