    Species Description - Plants 0.7-1 mm wide. Leaf lobes subsymmetrical, obovate- elliptical, 1.5-2 times as long as wide, standing away from substrate, apex of at least some leaves acute or obtuse with 1 cell, margins entire. Cells in midlobe 20-30 x 15-22 µm, thin-walled, trigones lacking or small, intermediate thickenings 1 per wall; ocellus 1 at leaf base only, colorless, large, 2-3 times longer than adjacent cells, additional ocelli lacking. Lobules to 2/5 of leaf length, frequently reduced, inflated below, abruptly flattened above. Underleaf lobes (2)3 cells long, 1-2 cells wide at base. Autoicous.
