    Species Description - Plants 1-1.9 mm wide, brownish green to dark yellowish green. Leaf lobes imbricate, obliquely spreading, ovate, concave, apex widely rounded, sometimes apiculate, margins entire. Cells in midlobe elongate, 25-35 x 35-45 µm, thin-walled, trigones medium sized, without or with 2 intermediate thickenings, cuticle papillose; oil bodies small, finely granular. Lobules ca. 1/6 of leaf length, inflated, rounded rectangular, lateral margin slightly incurved, apical tooth short, oblong. Underleaves bifid to 1/3 of length, imbricate, suborbicular to reniform, wider than long, 4-6 times stem width, lobes acute, margins entire, bases rounded to conspicuously ariculate, insertion line slightly to strongly arched. Dioicous. Male bracteoles restricted to base of male spike. Perianths inflated, keels smooth. Vegetative reproduction rare, via caducous branches. In moist low¬land forest, common, 200-300 m, on bark in understory and canopy, occasionally on living leaves.
