  • Description

    Species Description - Plants 0.5-1.5 mm wide, pale green to pale brown. Leaf lobes imbricate, asymmetrically ovate with dorsal margin arched and ventral margin straight, apex rounded to acute, margins finely crenulate to toothed. Cells in midlobe isodiametrical, 20-30 pm, thin-walled, without or with very small trigones, intermediate thickenings lacking, cuticle smooth. Lobules ovoid to trapezoidal, 1/4-1/3 of lobe length, with a sharp, straight or falcate tooth. Underleaves undivided, distant to imbricate, broadly obovate to almost reniform, 2-4 times stem width, margins entire or toothed. Dioicous. Gemmiparous shoots upright, flagelliform, with narrowly ovate, toothed leaves and squarrose underleaves; gemmae orbicular, with a few inflexed, marginal rhizoids.
