    Species Description - Plants 0.2-0.4 mm wide, pale green. Branches without collar. Ventral merophyte 1 cell wide. Leaves dimorphic. Fully developed leaves asymmetrically ovate-triangular, dorsal surface roughened by papillose cells, margins crenate due to conically elevated cells, apex acute, hyaline border and ocelli lacking. Cells in midlobe subisodia- metrical, 15-20 µm long, thin-walled, trigones small, intermediate thickenings lacking, all lobe cells conically elevated dorsally and crowned by a large papilla. Lobules ovate, ca. 1/2 of lobe length, sometimes reduced, inflated, surface roughened by conically elevated, papillose cells, keel curved to arched, crenate, free margin incurved, lobule cells ± isodiametrical; first and second teeth small, 1-celled, separated by only 1 cell, first tooth often inflexed and inconspicuous. Autoicous or paroicous. Perianths obovoid, 5-keeled, surface papillose.
