Description
Species Description - Plants 1.2-1.8 mm wide. Ventral merophyte 4 cells wide. Leaf lobes densely imbricate, when dry convolute, when moist wide spreading and ± squarrose, ovate-orbicular, apex rounded or obtuse. Cells in midlobe 25-35 x 16-25 µm, with small, cordate trigones. Lobules ovate-triangular, 2/5-1/2 of lobe length, with 5-8 erect or inflexed teeth, first tooth 2-4 cells long, usually curved outwardly, separated from second tooth by 3-5 margin cells, other teeth 1-2 cells long, separated from each other by 1-3 margin cells. Underleaves broadly ovate-obovate, 3-4 times stem width. Autoicous or dioicous. Perianths immersed, 6-10-keeled. Caducous leaves minute, about 5 times smaller than branch leaves, lobe and lobule of about same size, lobule with only 2 teeth, a long rhizoid arising from apex of keel.
