    Species Description - Plants 1.5-2 mm wide, pale green to brown, loosely creeping to pendent, regularly or irregularly pinnate. Leaf lobes contiguous to subimbricate, widely spreading, fragile, asymmetrically falcate- ovate, apex rounded to obtuse, dorsal base slightly auriculate. Cells in midlobe subisodiametrical, ca. 20-25(30) pm in largest diameter, thin-walled, trigones small to medium-sized, not radiate, cuticle smooth. Lobules 1/4-1/2 of lobe length, distant, obliquely spread¬ing at an angle of 45-60° with stem, (sub)quadrate, somewhat in¬flated along keel, the keel straight or curved, not or short-decurrent, apex not or short-elongate, obtuse, antical margin not wavy, base covering 1/3-2/3 of stem. Vegetative reproduction by caducous leaf lobes common.
