    Species Description - Plants 3-6 mm wide, green or golden green, sparsely and irregularly branched, branches predominantly intercalary. Leaves distant to subimbricate, widely spreading, narrowly oblong-rectangular, ca. 2.5-4 times longer than wide, ventral base not ampliate, leaf margin at ventral base somewhat recurved, ventral stem surface clearly visible; leaf margins not bordered, leaf apex with 2 large teeth (to 1/4-1/2 length of lamina), ventral margin with 3-5 spinose teeth becoming progressively larger toward apex, dorsal margin without or with 1-2 short teeth; dorsal base short-decurrent, ventral base not or slightly decurrent. Cells in midleaf rectangular, 2-4 times longer than wide, 30-60 x 12-18 µm, trigones well-developed, radiate and becoming confluent, cuticle smooth. Perianths enveloped by bracts.
