Description
Description - Thallus small to large, thin, with a narrow midrib, pale green to yellowish, sometimes blue when dry, prostrate to erect or pendent, dichotomous or, rarely irregularly pinnate, with numerous hairs on thallus margins, on underside of midrib, and sometimes on ventral surface of thallus. Hairs unicellular, arising singly or in pairs, sometimes in groups of 3-5. Thallus surface plane to strongly convex, margins plane or decurved. Midrib 2-8( 12) cells wide in optical view, epidermis cells of midrib larger than inner cells; central strand absent. Thallus wings unbordered. Rest as in the family. All species of central French Guiana have midribs 2(3) cells wide, both dorsally and ventrally.
