Description
Species Description - Plants small, in often lustrous, mostly soft, pale to yellowish green, thin mats; stems mostly less than 1 cm long, irregularly but freely branched, the branches simple. Leaves distant, not com- planate, erect-spreading, usually symmetric, lanceolate, gradually acuminate, 0.3-0.6 x 0.1-0.3 mm; margins entire to subserrulate, plane or sometimes erect below; costa mostly absent; cells linear, 50-110 x 3-7 pm, not shorter in the acumen, becoming shorter, broader and laxer in 1-2 rows across the insertion; alar cells few, inconspicuous, in basal angles, not reaching the costa, in 1-2 rows, extending up the margins by 0-1 cell, quadrate to subquadrate. Asexual propagula not seen. Autoicous. Setae 0.5-1 cm long, twisted, typically curved just below the urn; capsules inclined, ± arcuate, asymmetric, short-cylindric with a fairly conspicuous neck, 0.6-0.8 mm long, constricted slightly below the mouth when dry.

In montane forests atop Mont Galbao, uncommon, ca. 700 m, on old wood and trunks of tree ferns.
