Description
Species Description - Plants relatively small, in lustrous, mostly pale to bright green, thin mats or tufts; primary stems often elongate, to 10 cm but mostly considerably shorter, with erect, mostly simple, relatively laxly foliate, strongly complanate-foliate branches, to 2 cm. Leaves little altered when dry, often flat, ovate-lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, mostly long-acuminate, ± asymmetric, (1.4)1.9-2.7(3) x 0.5-1 mm; margins serrulate above, plane throughout to recurved below, elimbate; costa ending 1/4-1/2 the leaf length; cells long-hexagonal to linear, 85-130 x 8-15 µm, mostly thin-walled, not differentiated in the apex, becoming rectangular and colored in 1-2 rows across the insertion. Asexual propagula not seen. Autoicous. Setae strongly to weakly papillose throughout, 1.7-2.2(3) mm long; capsules short-cylindric, 0.8-1.2 mm long. Calyptrae naked or with a few scattered hairs, slightly roughened at apex.

Distribution
In non-flooded moist forests, fairly common, 200-400 m, usually on twigs, less common on tree trunks.
