Description
Species Description - Plants relatively small, yellowish green to reddish brown; stems to ca. 4 cm long, branches 0.2-0.5(1.5) cm tall. Leaves crispate and incurved when dry, lanceolate, acute to obtuse-apiculate, 1.5-2 x 0.4-0.5 mm; margins entire to crenulate above, with swollen basal teeth at insertion, plane above, plane to recurved below; costa percurrent to short-excurrent; cells rounded-hexagonal, 6-10 µm in diameter, bulging to mammillose, thick-walled; basal cells long- rectangular, ca. 40 x 2-4 µm, thick-walled, not porose, tuberculate. Setae 0.4-0.6 cm long, smooth; capsules 1-1.5 mm long, short-cylindric, mostly ± furrowed, anisosporous; peristome double, exostome teeth papillose; endostome with well developed segments. Calyptrae mitrate, naked.

In non-flooded moist forests, uncommon, 200-400 m, on tree trunks and branches, usually in the canopy.
