Description
Genus Description - Plants small to robust, usually growing in tufts. Leaves sometimes twisted when dry, seldom crowded near stem apices, ovate-lanceolate to spatulate, rarely rounded, acute to short-acuminate, often decurrent; margins usually toothed, often limbate (but not or inconspicuously so in our two species); costa subpercurrent to long-excurrent; cells mostly fusiform. Asexual reproduction by spherical or uniseriate axillary propagula or rhizoidal tubers. Setae elongate; capsules inclined to pendent; peristome double or rarely single or none.
