Description
Species Description - Plants small, 0.3-2 cm tall, yellowish to dark green, in thin turfs. Leaves contorted and secund when dry, ligulate from a scarcely enlarged base, 2.5-3.5 x 0.3-0.5 mm; margins thickened, serrate with teeth in 3 or more irregular wings, elimbate; costa subpercurrent; cells round to short-rectangular, 9-14 x 5.5-8.5 µm, unipapillose abaxially, mammillose to mammillose-unipapillose adaxially; cancellinae golden (rarely hyaline), well developed, rounded above, the cells often somewhat eroded, with faint transverse thickenings. Asexual reproduction by gemmae; gemmiferous leaves scarcely differentiated; gemmae infrequent, on adaxial surface of costa. Setae 0.4-0.7 mm long; capsules immersed, 1-1.4 mm long.
