Description
Species Description - Plants small, to ca. 0.5 cm, yellowish to brownish green, often in dense turfs. Leaves incurved when dry, lanceolate from a gradually expanded base, 3.5-5 x ca. 0.8 mm; margins thickened, 2-4-stratose, serrulate; costa subpercurrent; cells oval, ca. 12 x 14(16) µm, mammillose-unipapillose abaxially, mammillose adaxially; teniolae none but leaf shoulders strongly bordered with 9-16 rows of elongate, thick-walled cells; cancellinae truncate above, cells smooth. Asexual reproduction by gemmae; gemmiferous leaves scarcely differentiated; gemmae infrequent, on adaxial surface of leaf apices. Setae 3 mm long; capsules ca. 1.8 mm long.

In non-flooded moist forests, rare, 200—400 m, on tree trunks, often fertile.
