Description
Species Description - Plants relatively robust, to 2 cm tall but this mostly due to leaves rather than stems, dark green, often in extensive, dense turfs. Leaves contorted when dry, linear-lanceolate from an expanded base, 8-14 x 1.25-1.5 mm; margins thickened, 2-4- stratose, laxly serrate; costa subpercurrent; cells oval to oblate, ca. 5 x 5-9 µm, smooth, often bistratose in patches; teniolae none; cancellinae rounded above, cells smooth. Asexual reproduction by gemmae; gemmiferous leaves scarcely differentiated; gemmae infrequent, on adaxial surface of leaf apices. Setae ca. 10 mm; capsules 1.5-2.5 mm long.

In non-flooded moist forests, uncommon, 200-300 m, on tree trunks.
