    Species Description - Plants mostly in small tufts, 0.5-1.5 cm tall, whitish green or the leaf base with pink to purple tinges. Leaves erect-spreading with somewhat recurved apices, ligulate, apiculate, not fragile, 3-6 x ca. 0.5 mm; margins serrate at extreme apex; cross-section of costa flattened, with 3-4 layers of leucocysts on either side of the chlorocysts; laminal cells rectangular to long-rectangular, 50-80 µm long. Setae 3-8 mm long, yellow to orange; capsules 1-1.5 mm long; peristome teeth 8, mostly smooth.

  • Distribution

    In gaps in moist non-flooded forests, uncommon, ca. 200 m, on tree trunks or less often logs.
