Description
Species Description - Plants medium-sized, 1-3 cm tall, but often in extensive cushions. Leaves usually strongly falcate-secund, often tinged with red, lanceolate from an ovate-lanceolate base, 3-6 x 0.5-1 mm; margins incurved, entire or sparsely serrulate at extreme apex; costa throughout the leaf in cross-section with a single layer of leucocysts on each side of a single layer of chlorocysts; lamina narrow, of 3-5(7) rows of long-rectangular, firm-walled cells at midleaf, narrower below. Setae reddish, 10-15(25) mm long; capsules ca. 1 mm long, furrowed when dry, strumose; operculum long-rostrate, ca. 1.5 mm long; peristome teeth vertically striate and papillose on front surface.

Distribution
In non-flooded moist forests, somewhat common, 200-400 m, on rotten logs, often in association with Sematophyllum sub-simplex, rarely epiphytic or on rock.
