Description
Species Description - Plants medium-sized, locally to 2 cm, dark green, reddish tomentose. Leaves 6-10 x 0.4 mm, long-lanceolate, ± straight, apex concolorous; margins entire below, serrulate at extreme apex; costa filling ca. 1/3 the leaf base, excurrent, ridged at back, with ventral stereids; upper laminal cells subquadrate to short-rectangular, ca. 11-31 x 4-6 µm, basal laminal cells long-rectangular, ca. 70-75 x 8-9 µm, thick-walled and porose; alar cells large, inflated, reddish. Sporophytes (not known locally) 3-4 per perichaetium; setae ca. 9 mm long; capsules arcuate, ca. 2 mm long.

Discussion
The var. lamellinervis is distinguished from var. exaltatus by light-green plants with leaves recurved and tortuose when dry (rather than erect and straight). It is known from Guyana and could be found locally.

In humid montane forest at summit of Mont Galbao, rare, 700 m, on tree trunk.
