Description
Species Description - This species is easily confused with N. multiflora (Roxb.) Jarret ex Morton. Nephrolepis biserrata has rhizome- and stipe-scales pale brown to orange, con- colorous, lanceolate, spreading, 5-7 mm long, with sparsely ciliate margins; pinnae (5) 8.5-20 cm long, some petiolulate; indusia with occasional hairs 0.1-0.3 mm long. In N. multiflora, the rhizome- and stipe-scales are appressed and bicolorous, with a lustrous, dark-castaneous central portion and whitish fimbriate-ciliate margin; pinnae 3.5-8 cm long, all sessile; indusia glabrous.

Previously known from Mexico (Nayarit, Oaxaca, Veracruz, and Tabasco), U.S.A. (Florida), Guatemala, and Belize to Panama, Antilles, Trinidad, southern Colombia, Peru, and Brazil.
