    Latin Diagnosis - Arbuscula, ramis glabris; stipulis in vaginam 0.5 mm longam 1.5 mm latam glabram connatis, vaginis in dentes lanceolatos acutos 1 mm longos desinentibus; foliis oppositis petiolatis, petiolis 4-7 mm longis glabris; laminis lanceolatis vel lanceolato-ellipticis apice acuminatis basi acutis 5-7.5 × 1.5-2.5 cm, nervis lateralibus utroque latere 7-8 supra obscure impressis subtus tenuioribus, venulis tertiariis subtus tenuibus; inflorescentia terminali pedunculata, pedunculo filiformi 1.5-3.5 cm longo; inflorescentia late ovoideo-paniculata 2-2.5 cm longa basi 1.5-3.5 cm lata omnino glabra, axibus 7-8 filiformibus omnino glabris in cymas tribus paucifloras desinentibus, axibus infimis oppositis vel 4-verticillatis 10-18 mm longis 8-10-floris, axibus ultimis 2-4.5 mm longis patentibus curvatis nec late divaricatis nec divaricate dichotomis 2-4-floris; floribus omnino sessilibus; inflorescentiae bracteis linearibus vel filiformibus acutis 1-4 × 0.2 mm glabris basi ipsa nullis; calyce hypanthioque 1.2 mm longo glabro, hypanthio breviter columnari 0.5 mm longo 0.8 mm lato; calyce 0.5 mm longo 1 mm lato 5-lobato, lobis late triangularibus acutis 0.5 × 0.5 mm glabris; corolla infundibuliform! 4 mm longa extus glabra, tubo 2.5 mm longo basi 0.8 mm lato fauce 1.2 mm lato intus supra medium pilosulo ceterum glabro, lobis ovato-oblongis subacutis 1.8-2 × 1 mm; antheris oblongis 0.8 mm longis.

    Type. En bosque alto, camino entre Rio Tucano afluente del Rio Cauaburí y cerca de la Neblina, Amazonas, Brazil, alt 400 m, 18 Apr 1964, J. Ewel 114 (holotype NY, isotype MAR).

    This taxon is related to P. deflexa DC., from which it differs in the filiform rachis, peduncle, and axes of the inflorescence, complete glabrity of the inflorescence, and longer bracts of the inflorescence.
