    In this variety the corollas are shorter than in var nitida and var chimantensis, and the base of the leaf blade is obtuse to rounded and in an extreme development subcordate to cordate.

    The specimen of Wilson-Browne 469A, cited above, is identical with other material of var amazonica. Although most of the flowers of this collection are tetramerous, others were found to be pentamerous.
