  • Discussion

The uniformly strigose-sericeous ovary and larger leaflets at once separate this species from its nearest relatives, S. maguirei and S. fimbriata, both of which have the lateral surfaces of the ovary devoid of vestiture. Both also have proportionately smaller leaflets of rather different form, and the petal of S. maguirei is sericeous externally.
