Discussion
The description and figure presented by Barbosa Rodrigues for his S. chrysantha indicate flowers having isomorphic stamens and regularly unifoliolate leaves. Such a description could scarcely apply to any species other than S. auriculata. There is only one other species presently included in this genus with isomorphic stamens- S. arborescens: it has much smaller leaflets which occur in 3’s, although collections with some of the leaves unifoliolate are not exceptional. The flowers of S. arborescens are also smaller in most of the parts.
