Description
Description - Tree 7-12 m tall, the trunk 20 cm diameter or more, the branchlets glabrous; stipules caducous; petioles terete, (15-)20-30(-40) mm long, glabrous, the rachis (3-)5-7.5(-10) cm long, terete, glabrous; leaflets 2- or 3-jugate, coriaceous, the petiolules (3-)5-6(-7) mm long, sparsely puberulous, the blades glabrous on the upper surface, minutely strigulose and sometimes glaucous beneath, the venation obscure, the costa impressed above, salient beneath, the primary veins plane; inflorescences racemose, axillary or ramuligerous, 11-13 cm long, the axis minutely strigulose or puberulous, the bracts 2-4 mm long, subulate, minutely strigulose on both the inner and outer surfaces, the bracteoles arising 1/4 to 1/2 the distance from the pedicel base, triangular, ca 1 mm long; pedicels 6.5-9 mm long, strigulose; buds globose, minutely strigulose; calyx segments 5, glabrous within, minutely strigulose externally, persisting with the old flowers; corolla white, the claw ca 2 mm long, the blade subcircular to circular, 6-8 mm long, 7-8 mm wide, glabrous; larger stamens 2-4, the filaments 6-6.5 mm long, the anthers ca 1.5 mm long and 0.6 mm wide, glabrous, the smaller stamens with glabrous filaments 5 mm long, the anthers oblate, glabrous; stigma punctiform; style 0.8-1.5 mm long, sericeous at least basally; ovary oval, 2.5-4 mm long, 2-2.5 mm wide, sericeous; gynophore 3-4 mm long, sericeous.

Distribution
(Fig. 25). Dense, primary, riverine forests in the vicinity of Manáos, Brazil; west-central Guyana.
