Discussion
The guava is one of the best known cultivated plants of the tropics, and it does not seem necessary to cite records of its occurrence in our area. For a description see Field Mus. Publ. Bot. 13(4) [Fl. Peru]: 794. 1958. Plants that are intermediate in various ways between this species and Psidium guineense are sometimes collected, and may well represent individuals of hybrid origin.
