Distribution and Ecology - Suriname to southern Venezuela and northern Brazil. In theGuayana Highland common in woods and savannas, often in sandy soil, at low elevationsin the extreme southwestern portion along the Rio Vaupes, the Rio Apaporis,and their tributaries, from the vicinity of Cerro Duida, Amazonas, Venezuela, andfrom the Kaieteur Savanna, British Guiana.
