    Species Description - Tree. Leaves lance-oblong to oblong-elliptic, acuminate at apex, obtuse to rounded at base, 7-15 cm long, 1.5-6 cm wide, margins obscurely crenulate to subentire; lateral nerves 17-20 each side, the more conspicuous ones of the upper surface arcuately spreading, the secondary nerves and tertiary veinlets subhorizontally spreading. Inflorescence paniculate with 2-4 lateral axes, 5- 9 cm long, 7-10 cm wide. Pedicels 9-12 m m long. Petals subflabelliform, rounded at apex, 7- 8(-10) mm long, 5-7(-8) mm wide. Flower huds ovoid, narrowed to a subacute or subobtuse apex, 5 mm long. Gynophore in anthesis 0.3-0.5 m m long, equaling or shorter than the ovary. Fruiting torus depressed-sphaeroidal. Mature drupe oblong or obovoid-oblong, 6-8 mm long.

    Distribution and Ecology - Amazonian regions of Colombia, Brazil, and Venezuela in mixed woodland and savanna at altitudes of 100-250 m.
