    Distribution and Ecology - Widely distributed in savannas from Mexico and Central America to the West Indies, and in South America from Colombia and Venezuela to Bahia and Rondonia, Brazil; not c o mm o n in Guayana. GUYANA. Upper Mazamni River, 3 ft high, flowers white, 22 Sep-6 Oct 1922, de la Cruz 2336 (NY). BRAZIL. TERRITORIO DO RORAIMA: Along river Limao, 8 Oct 1927, Tate 143 (NY); Serra Tepequem, frequent in savanna, annual with white flowers, 700- 800 m, 2 Dec 1954, Maguire & Maguire 40143 (NY).
