Description
Distribution and Ecology - A well-marked species known only by the type collection. The species obviously belongs to the Symbolanthus elisabethae-S. camanensis- S. yutajensis complex.

Type. Venezuela. Bolivar: In clump 1 m tall, corolla deep rose-red, leaves coriaceous; savanna-like areas, Cerro Jaua, 60 km northeast of the Mision de Campamento Canidad, 1900-2100 m, Rio Kanarakuni, Rio Caura, 22-27 M a r 1967, Julian A. Steyermark 97958 (holotype V E N , isotype N Y )
