    Description - Tree 10-20 m tall, the branchlets black-velutinous; stipules caducous, oblate, 12-17 mm long, 17-20 mm wide, velutinous externally and marginally within; petioles 3.5-4.5 cm long, velutinous, the rachis 7-10 cm long, slightly marginate, velutinous; leaflets 3- (or 4-) jugate, the petiolules 6-7 mm long, velutinous, the blades rigid-coriaceous, those of the basal pair smaller, 8-9 cm long, 4.5-5 cm wide, oval to oblong-oval, the blades of the other pairs 11-15.5 cm long, 4-7 cm wide, the base of all the blades obtuse to rounded-obtuse, the apex abruptly acute, glabrous above, densely tomentose and micro-tessellate beneath, the costa and primary veins slightly impressed on the upper surface of the leaflets, strongly salient beneath; inflorescences ramuligerous or axillary, 9-15 cm long, the axes velutinous, the bracts persistent, 7-9 mm long, ca 6 mm wide, broadly oval, densely strigulose externally, glabrous within; pedicels 12-16 mm long, velutinous; buds globose, ca 10 mm diameter, densely strigulose; calyx segments coriaceous, densely strigulose externally, glabrous within; petal glabrous on the inner surface, villose-sericeous externally, the claw ca 3 mm long, the blade 17-20 mm long, 22 mm wide, rounded to oblate, cordate basally; larger stamens 5 or 6, glabrous, the filaments ca 18 mm long, the anthers oblong, 2 mm long, the smaller stamens glabrous, the filaments ca 8 mm long; stigma capitellate; style 6 mm long, glabrous; ovary densely strigose, ca 8 mm long and 2 mm wide, narrowly elliptic; gynophore 6 mm long, strigose densely; fruit not seen.
