Description
Description - Tree, the branchlets tomentose-velutinous; stipules caducous, 5-9.5 mm long, 7-12 mm wide, tomentose-velutinous externally, glabrous within except for a marginal zone of pubescence; petioles terete, 11-38 mm long, tomentose-velutinous, canaliculate, the rachis 6.5-12 cm long, canaliculate, tomentose-velutinous; leaflets 4- or 5-jugate, the petiolules 2-3.5 mm long, velutinous, the blades of the lowermost pair elliptic-ovate to lanceolate, 5.5-6 cm long, 2.5-3 cm wide, the blades of the other pairs 7-13 cm long, 2.5-4 cm wide, elliptic to elliptic-oblong, the base of all the leaflets rounded, the apices abruptly acute or acuminate, the upper surface glabrous, tomentose beneath, the venation slightly impressed on the upper surface, strongly salient beneath; inflorescence racemose, cauligerous or ramigerous, 6.5-12 cm long, the axis tomentose-velutinous, the bracts deciduous, oval or obovate, tomentose-velutinous externally, glabrous within, 4-5 mm long and wide; pedicels 15-32 mm long, tomentose-velutinous; buds globose to oval in outline, apiculate, 11 mm diameter, tomentose-velutinous; calyx segments 3 or 4, velutinous externally, glabrous within; petal densely villose-sericeous externally, glabrous on the inner surface, the claw ca 4 mm long, the blade suborbicular in outline, basally truncate, 15-20 mm long, 20 mm wide; larger stamens 6, the filaments ca 21 mm long, glabrous, the anthers oblong, 2.5 mm long, 1 mm wide, glabrous, the smaller stamens glabrous, the filaments 12 mm long; stigma capitellate; style ca 6 mm long, basally sericeous; ovary narrowly oblong-elliptic, ca 7 mm long and 2 mm wide, sericeous; gynophore ca 5 mm long, sparsely sericeous; fruit not seen.

Distribution
(Fig. 4). Known only from the type locality in south-central Guyana in rainforest, ca 600 m alt.
