    Description - Tree with the branchlets densely velutinous, the hairs darkly black-brown; stipules caducous, (6.5-)9-13 mm long, (6.5-)9-15(-18) mm wide, velutinous on both surfaces; petioles 2.5-6(-9.5) cm long, terete, velutinous, the rachis (10-) 12-18 (-21.5) cm long, terete, velutinous, estipellate; leaflets (3-)4- or 5-jugate, the petiolules 2-5 mm long, velutinous, the blades thin- to rigid-coriaceous, often more or less concave, at least the margins somewhat involute, the basal pair of blades oval, elliptic, or suborbicular, smaller, (5-)7—8(-11.5) cm long, (3.5-)4-6(-7) cm wide, the other blades elliptic to oblong-elliptic, (9-)11-17(-21) cm long, (4-)6-8 (-9.5) cm wide, all the blades obtuse basally or the terminal one acute, the apex acute to bluntly acute, glabrous on the upper surface except for the velutinous costa, tomentose beneath, the hairs cinnamon-brown, the venation on the upper surface prominulous and impressed, rarely plane, salient and prominent beneath; inflorescence ramigerous or cauligerous, 6-17 (-21) cm long, racemose or panicled-racemose, the axis velutinous, the bracts deciduous to persistent, (1.5-)3-4 mm long, (1.5-)3-3.5 mm wide, semicircular, velutinous to strigulose externally, strigose within; pedicels 9-20(-30) mm long, velutinous; buds globose, 8-10 mm diameter, strigulose to velutinous; calyx segments 4 or 5, irregular, persistent, coriaceous, strigulose to pilosulose-velutinous externally, glabrous within; claw of the petal 2 mm long, the blade oblate, basally cordate, ca 15 mm long and 20 mm wide, glabrous within, densely villose-sericeous externally; larger stamens 4-8, the filaments 14-20 mm long, sparingly villose, the anthers 2-3 mm long, 0.7-1 mm wide, oblong, the smaller stamens glabrous, the filaments 10-11 mm long; stigma capitellate; style 9-10 mm long, glabrous except basally sericeous; ovary (6-)9-15 mm long, 2-3 mm wide, densely sericeous; gynophore 7-10 mm long, sericeous apically, glabrous below; fruit woody, finely tomentose, the surface longitudinally ridged, arcuate-oblong, ca 12 cm long and 3.5 cm wide, the stipe 17 mm long.
