  • Discussion

Amshoff was quite correct in relating the species to S. ingifolia and to S. laxiflora; from both it differs in its clavate to globose buds which are strongly rugose longitudinally. The flattened-clavate pedicels are also distinctive. The leaves are similar to those of S. piarensis, which has a glabrous gynoecium and strictly globose buds.
