  • Discussion

There is only one possible close relative of S. ingifolia-S. laxiflora. Both species are related to the S. laurifolia assemblage which differs, among other characteristics, by the relative dimensions of the style and ovary. In the S. laurifolia complex the style is 6-10 times as long as the ovary, rather than ca 3 times as in S. ingifolia and its relatives. From S. laxiflora the present species differs by the glabrous undersurfaces of its leaflets which usually occur in fewer pairs.
