    Type. Posoqueria longiflora Aublet.

    Note: The present treatment involves an evaluation of the species encountered in Venezuela, the Guianas, and the Guayana Highlands, and adjacent regions where the taxa are encountered. The entire genus is in need of revision, especially the poorly known southern Brazilian taxa, and it is hoped that future studies will entail the remainder of the species not encountered in the present study.
